Two organizations that are very near and dear to my heart are........
60% of the funds raised at the Miles for Smiles event will be earmarked at the ACS for McKean County patients ONLY! The money will be put into a fund called Honor of Tinia Ketchner and in Memory of Barb Race. It's the Road to Recovery program. Most importantly, ALL the funds stays locally!!
American Cancer Society’s efforts go towards saving lives and creating more birthdays by helping you stay well, helping you get well, by researching for cures, and by fighting back. Of the funds raised in McKean County, 60% stays in McKean County and goes toward programs and services such as Look Good, Feel Better, Reach to Recovery, and Road to Recovery, while 40% goes to help fund life-saving cancer research.

2011 Wineglass Half Marathon!
One day when Tinia was going through chemo treatments we were chatting about how my training was going for the Hershey Half Marathon. She said to me, "Rhonda, when I am cancer-free and cleared by the doctors, I am running a half marathon with you". I wonder if she realized I was going to hold her to it! The experience and long conversations we had while training and for this half marathon will be memories I will cherish forever! From the outhouse (ouch), the cat, mile 10, what you saw on mile 12.5 and I thought... oh boy she is seeing stuff I best hurry and get her to the finish line (haha) but you weren't wrong, coming up to the finish line you said, "I did this! I beat cancer and now I am finishing a half marathon!". Finally after we crossed the finish line, Tinia's husband ran and gave us both a hug at the same time, so tight, I thought I wasn't going to caught my breath for hours! Tons of memories we had in 2011 with training and the day of the half!! Love you, Sis... you're amazing and a true inspiration to many people!
I would like to thank, Gretchen Brahaney, Tim and Tammy Anderson, Connie Cattoni, Barb Close, Marty Causer, Tina Phillips, Judy Auteri, Kevin, Gracie (cheerleader), Mackenzie Race, Dad and Pat for making my sister's first half marathon a memory she will never forget! I also can't forget about Debbie Huston and Nancy Crissman for waiting by the finish line and SCREAMING our names out while we were coming up to the finish line! I could hear people screaming but I couldn't find them! Denise Watson who was still running her full marathon but once she was done, she was texting me to see how Tinia was doing. If I would of known she was only 12 minutes behind us I would of waited for her! We will never forget the support and love you all gave my sister on the day she completed her first half marathon! Many blessings to you all! This is the reason why running is so amazing!
